Description
To support the Security and Car parking work across the Trust.


To work with other Specialist Advisors planning initiatives and activities that promotes compliance with all relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and Standards for Better Health.

To support the LSMS (Local Security Management Specialist) and promote a pro-security culture throughout the Trust.

Attending relevant accredited training programmes and associated conferences, as necessary.

  • To be aware and have an understanding of all current aspects of security related legislation, best practice and national guidance, advising management and staff appropriately, as well as providing day to day advice and guidance. To know when to seek guidance from the relevant Security specialist.
  • To keep under review all existing security related policies and guidelines to ensure they remain appropriate and up to date in respect of statutory requirements and good practice.
  • To work within common systems of working and mutual support arrangements to ensure Trust compliance with existing or new health and safety legislation.
  • Liaise and consult with managers, staff and accredited reps at all levels of the organisation including close liaison and working relationships with those managers taking a supporting role in respect to related statutory compliance.
  • To support the programme of Security related Inspections, producing reports and monitoring action plans were required.
To work in a highly motivated team that supports staff members within a very busy office-based environment.

The training and structure provided to staff will ensure they feel comfortable in regard to having the necessary skills to undertake their role within what is supportive team.


  • To support the duties of the LSMS in accordance with national recognised guidelines to promote a prosecurity culture and a safe and secure environment throughout the Trust.
  • To attend incidents of violence and aggression and all other security related incidents across the Trust. To initially investigate these incidents and then to liaise with the LSMS.
  • To ensure that incidents of physical assault are appropriately reported to the LSMS and that staff are appropriately supported after any such incidents.
  • To carry out Security related risk assessments across the entire site liaising with the LSMS and to report the information to the relevant persons.
  • To assist with the high standards of security across the entire site, ensuring that on site security personnel are performing their duties as laid out in their assignment instructions.
  • Ensuring that they meet the high standards of security as required by the trust.
  • To liaise with onsite security on a day to day basis with regards to incidents and ongoing issues.
