The opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Senior HCSW to support children with complex health care needs.


You will work in the community, at home or at school to provide practical nursing care for a child with specific healthcare needs and others presenting with a range of complex healthcare conditions including life-limiting/life-threatening conditions.

The post holder will be required to be caring, compassionate, committed and ambitious to the team. The ability to work well on your own initiative and within a small team. The post holder will be required to work mainly unsocial hour's shifts and nights.

  • Deliver individualised care with parents of children with complex care needs under supervision of a Registered Nurse and support the wider team of health professionals working in continuing care.
  • An ability to work well on own initiative and within a small team. The post holder will be required to work shifts mainly unsociable hours and nights.
  • Previous experience in caring for a child who requires long term care package in the community is desirable, experience of ventilation would be an advantage although full training will be supported by the service.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
