About the role:


  • As a Product Owner for Data, you will be working within the Data Product Line with internal scrum teams and external thirdparty vendors. You will be a recognised leader and expert ensuring that the team and individual service delivery expectations are exceeded and positively received as well as leading and promoting optimum efficiency and compliance within the agreed budget, achieving a positive ROI.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Support the maintenance of the evergreen technology roadmap, understanding the systems and solutions within the product line and value streams (SAP, AWS MS Power BI/SAC, Informatica, Erwin Data Intelligence and other SAAS and onprem solutions).
  • Working with IT Teams and Procurement Teams to plan maintenance activity, advise on contract renewals and/or ceasing of contracts in line with the strategic roadmap.
  • Identify, analyse, and implement appropriate KPIs which allow the business to measure product success.
  • Recognise data as a product; translating product roadmaps into backlogs that prioritise delivery of the highest value features first.
  • You will be responsible for promoting lean agile practices through identifying and iterating towards transformational department needs, collaborating with wider organisational initiatives as necessary.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Product Managers and other Product Owners across teams to ensure successful delivery of crossroadmap projects and dependencies.

About you:


  • A background in data and data product ownership.
  • A good understanding/breadth of knowledge around data, data flows and the value of data.
  • Ability to lead, engage, inspire and mange change whilst delivering excellent results through product and sprint goals.
  • Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, with the ability to translate complex IT issues into business related vocabulary.
  • An understanding of the role technology and digital platforms plays to enable business value with an overall understanding of the whole lifecycle of technology products.
  • Experience of working in an agile productcentric environment and agile/matrix managed multidisciplinary technology teams, including deep understanding of agile methodologies such as software development methodology, e.g., behaviourdriven development.
  • Previous experience in creating product specifications, including capturing requirements, writing user stories, estimations/story points, wire framing, and/or documenting acceptance criteria desired
  • Proficient in the use of Atlassian products: Jira and Confluence.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and SaFe Agilist.
