Location:
Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire


Salary:
£22,000 - £24,000 paid overtime, pension, life assurance, 26 days holiday + Bank Holidays.


Job Type:37 hours per week, i.e 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday-Thursday (half an hour unpaid lunch-break)

8.00am to 1.00pm Friday (no lunch break)

The role:


Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Purchasing Expeditor to join our busy and highly motivated Purchasing Team on a permanent contract.

Production is the heart of our business, and this role is key in ensuringprocesses run smoothly.

The work is varied, interesting and demanding and we expect high standards for quality and performance.


The role of the Purchasing Expeditor is to support the Production Department in ensuring all bought-in items, products and services are available in our Stores department, in line with the planned requirement date.

This enables Production to achieve monthly shipping targets, whilst minimising stock holding and managing supply chain risks.

The role of the Purchasing Expeditor is to ensure that supplies and materials are available to maintain the workflow and fostera cost-effective and productive workplace.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Monitor and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, including bought out components, metal bar and laser cut blanks
  • Monitor and chase all subcontracted Machine Shop items
  • Monitor and manage items sent out for post process treatments
  • Ensure that purchased items are inspected in a timely manner and that suppliers are informed of any rejected items and the appropriate time frame
  • Update the MRP system so all delivery dates are kept up to date and informing Production management of any issues ahead of time whilst working with suppliers to resolve any problems
  • Maintain seamless communication and coordination with Production, Engineering and Finance as appropriate
  • Assist the Purchasing department when required with regards to creating requests for quotations and placing purchase orders based on MRP requirements

Essential:


  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment
  • Able to work accurately to deadlines
  • Highly analytical with strong admin skills
  • An enthusiastic team player with a cando/flexible attitude
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills

Desirable:


  • Experience of SAP B1 ERP system
  • A willingness to help in other areas of the factory should the demand arise
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of engineering design and production processes

About Tecquipment:

TecQuipment manufactures of over 400 different products in our site in Long Eaton, near Nottingham. We typically complete and ship around 60 sales orders per month, each of which may include multiple products.

The products cover a range from simple forcesand moments kits through to wind-tunnels and gas turbines so there is tremendous variety and different challenges every day.
