Laurel Landscapes is a landscaping and grounds maintenance contractor working predominantly in the commercial sector. Work includes hard and soft landscape installation, sports facility construction, playground construction, ecology and grounds maintenance works. The company is based in Cardiff and works in south Wales and south west of England.The Team Leader is responsible for:
- Daily running of landscape construction and grounds maintenance sites
- Organising work safely and efficiently
- Running sites' administrative procedures
- Ensure that resources are used efficiently and works are delivered on time
- Work with company management and team members to ensure that all operatives are fully equipped each day with the necessary tools, equipment and materials to complete required tasks
- Ensure operatives' time is managed effectively
- Proactively take responsibility for all Health and Safety matters relating to staff, sites, contracts and vehicles, equipment and machinery under their remit
- Create a positive safety culture where everyone works efficiently and safely, risks are mitigated and injuries to do not occur or are a rare occurrence
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the correct policies and procedures
- Ensure that all vehicles, equipment and machinery used to deliver their contracts are properly maintained
- Create an environment where everyone achieves high levels of trust, which leads to excellent attendance, competency, loyalty and retention
- Carry out all duties in a manner and style that reflects the company's values and respects all employees and customers
Person Specification:
Must have good literacy and numeracy
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as team leader and 5 years' relevant landscaping experience
Full UK Driving Licence
Physically fit
