£25,742 to £29,605 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £27,979 to £32,332 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

We are in search of a highly motivated individual with a background in administrative support to join our close-knit, small, and friendly team.

Your role will be crucial in providing excellent administrative assistance to the School of Economics.

In this position, you will work closely with the Research and Operations (OR) Team, directly collaborating with the Manager of Research and Operations to enhance operational processes, with a particular emphasis on HR support.


The Opportunity:


The post-holder is responsible for providing operational administrative support, guidance, and advice, ensuring effective delivery of services in the school.

This includes supporting HR operations relating to academic and professional services staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

The role will also provide general and financial administrative support, which will include updating spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, handling queries and identifying service improvements.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. An ability to use tact and diplomacy and ensure confidentiality is maintained.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, with ability to plan, prioritise, take initiative and find proactive solutions, contribute new ideas to projects, work unsupervised, under pressure and multitask effectively.
  • Experience of effective and accurate processing, monitoring and reporting using electronic tools and systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy with a high standard of numeracy
  • Ability to build comprehensive knowledge of rapidly changing area of work, including relevant policies and procedures and able to identify and refine work practices and procedures in own area.
