We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Health Care Support Workers to join our Nursing teams based at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen.


We are looking for Health Care Support Workers that are passionate about delivering the best care possible, who have excellent communication skills and are willing to work as part of a committed and skilled multi-disciplinary team.


Opportunities are available in the following areas:
Cadog - a 20 bedded medical ward specialising in frailty.


Clinical Decision Unit - Acute medical admissions conveyed from EU or referred by General Practitioners - will see patients with a wide range of Acute medical problems including strokes and chest conditions.

Derwen - a 25 bedded ward specialising in Urology/Surgical patients.

Padarn - a 15 bedded medical ward specialising in Respiratory (including NIV/CPAP).

Teifi - a 30 bedded Trauma & Orthopaedic ward (including Major Trauma patients) supporting rehabilitation post operatively.

Towy - 20 bed medical ward specialising in Cardiac and Endocrinology.


Medical Day Unit/ Same Day Emergency Care - Our department takes a wide range of patients from various specialities such as haematology, cardiology, trauma and orthopaedics.

Preseli - a 15 bedded general surgical ward specialising in colorectal.

Most wards offer a mix of long and short shifts which cover days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Glangwili General Hospital is a busy, friendly, and well-equipped hospital which opened in 1949. There are approx. 260 acute and elective inpatient beds, supporting emergency surgical and medical admissions. There is a 24-hour Emergency Unit and a Minor Injuries Unit Day service. The medical wards are assigned to Respiratory, Gastroenterology/Haematology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Stroke/Rehabilitation, General Medicine, Elderly care, and Rehabilitation.


Glangwili General Hospital also provides Emergency General Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics/Major Trauma, ENT, and Gynaecology admissions, with elective care admissions in ENT & Gynaecology.
