We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join the team in NE12.

We are looking for an experienced deputy manager whose standards set them apart from the rest, who can inspire, drive change and lead a team to be the best they canbe in providing the highest quality care to the people we support.

Responsibilities of Deputy Manager:


  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, CQC registration and regulations and ensure all staff within the service are informed, trained and deliver a high quality service in line with these standards.
  • To work across a 24 hour shift pattern, which will necessitate attendance at work during early mornings, day shift, evening shift, night shift and participation in an oncall rota.
  • To develop, maintain and promote high professional and care standards both personally and throughout the team including domestic and catering services.
  • To deputise for the Registered Manager when appropriate.
  • To take the 'shift lead' role in the absence of a Senior Support Worker.
  • To take full responsibility for identified areas of the care standards, ensure they are translated into daytoday practice and provide evidence to support this.
  • To support the Registered Manager in providing robust evidence of the Care Standards implementation to the Head of Service to satisfy CQC and strategic directives.
  • Support the Registered Managers during CQC Inspections ?
  • To promote and maintain strong leadership and management across the service.

Key Skills/Requirements:


  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good I.T. skills
  • Knowledge of working with adults with disabilities
  • Knowledge of CQC standards
  • Understanding of challenging behaviour and Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Managing and leading teams
  • Delegating workloads and responsibilities

  • Confident to communicate effectively with staff, families, carers and social care professionals
