We are looking for an individual to become part of the team in our Peterborough office. Someone who appreciates and understands transport & logistic operations, within a dynamic and challenging team.

Who enjoys the challenges of learning and growing, but who can bring their own energy and personality to the role.

The office is air conditioned and free parking facilities are available. It is easily accessible via public transport and is located very close to the Peterborough football stadium.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Manage daily allocation of jobs to our contractors.
  • Receive and process customer bookings to meet commitments given to our clients.
  • Update our computer systems with information relating to each job.
  • Book shipping space with ferry operators via internet portals.
  • Use satellite tracking to identify locations of trailers and trucks.
  • Alert the management of any concerns relating to potential/actual losses on movements, as soon as identified.
  • Use freight exchanges to ensure trailers keep moving.
  • Alert your line manager of an customer/partner/supplier problems (actual or potential) immediately.
  • Raise invoices to customers to timelines, to recover demurrage and any additional charges.
  • Recover trailer damage and similar costs from suppliers where appropriate.
  • Engage with trailer suppliers to arrange MOT, servicing and repair of trailers.
  • Measure vehicle revenues and productivity on a weekly basis.
  • Complete any general administration duties to timelines.
  • At all times using your knowledge and skills to continue to grow with the business.

Skill Requirements:


  • Minimum 12 years' experience in a transport/traffic environment.
  • Proficient in the rules regarding driver hours regulations.
  • Communication skills to ensure that suppliers understand what is required from them, per job.
  • Proficient in working with computers.
  • Clerical background working within transport operations, either with UK domestic or European haulage.

Desirable Qualities:


  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and complete tasks to specific timelines.
  • Introduce beneficial solutions based on personal experience.#
  • The ability to resolve vehicle/transport issues, which may arise outside of working hours, in a timely manner.
  • European transport experience.

£23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
