Our general assistant role is working for Whitby Premier Lodge, which is open 365 days a year, providing an accommodation and meals service to contractors working on the local mine site who work on day and night shift patterns.

The role will cover; working in the kitchen/kitchen porter and on bar/food service. You will need to be flexible to the business, covering holidays as and when required. We will be able to guarantee you hours throughout the year.

Being a team player is key to this role; you will be able to develop, learn and work closely with our experienced Head Chef in the afternoon/evenings when working in the kitchen in a kitchen porter role, to assist on evening food service with the Chef, set up buffet, washing up, cleaning/deep cleaning, stock ordering, sandwich pack preparation, vegetable prep, recycling/general bin monitoring etc.

The working hours are:
morning breakfast service times are from 4.30/ /9.45am and evening service hours are from 4pm - 9pm.

In this role you would work on the bar/small shop, till and card transactions, change barrels in the cellar, process the laundry, stock rotation, cleaning tables/bar, setting up tables; liaising closely with morning and evening chefs regarding numbers of contractors dining.

Full training is provided for this very hands-on role.
