Shire Hill, Saffron Walden


Rate:
up to £24,000 DOE


Shifts:
Monday - Friday - some flexibility may be available for the right person

We currently require maternity cover for an accounts & payroll assistant.

The role would suit an individual looking to gain further experience and skills in a busy office covering a wide variety of accounting processes.


The accounts & payroll assistant provides support to the accounts manager with the accounting activity of the company and the duties cover a wide and varied set of tasks.

They are the 1st point of contact for accounts teams of our customers and suppliers.


Key Responsbilities
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers
  • Credit Control
  • Liaising with third party providers, clients, and suppliers
  • Maintaining records for monthly payroll preparation

Role Duties
The main duties performed, but not limited to, within this role:

  • Raising & Processing of Sales Invoices & Statements for customers and being the first point on contact for any customer account queries.
  • Processing of Supplier Invoices, ensuring accurate allocation to the accounts & reconciliation of Supplier Statements, and being the first point of contact for all purchase ledger queries.
  • Providing notes and communications for preparation of the weekly payment run.
  • Data entry for company KPIs
  • Processing Supplier Payments & bank transactions
  • Processing expense requests
  • Recording data from timesheets, processing holiday requests and assisting with payroll administration
  • Maintaining accounts records across operational platforms
  • Filing & general administrative duties
  • Assisting with other duties as required by the accounts manager

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 2 or above (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 year of handson experience in an accounts team
  • Experience using Sage Line 50 (desirable)

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
£16,380.00-£24,000.00 per year
