HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottinghamshire

Full time, 40 hours (8:00am - 4:30pm)

Permanent

£21,755 Per Annum
Here at Serco we are looking for an Administration Coordinator to join our team at HMP Lowdham Grange. HMP Lowdham Grange is a privately operated category B prison in Nottinghamshire. We have an adult male population of long-term sentenced prisoners.

We aim to engage the men in purposeful activity throughout their sentence with opportunities for employment, education, psychological intervention, engagement with Offender Management and a variety of healthcare services.


The role of the Administration Coordinator is to manage the work of the Central Detail function, with respect to; the operational and non-operational staffing levels of the establishment, annual leave, TOIL and overtime.

Some of the key elements of the position involve:

  • Ensure the establishment has the correct daily operational staffing levels in synchronisation with the most relevant staff profiles considering; planned prisoner movements, TOIL, annual leave, and staff training.
  • Find effective solutions to the operational difficulties that may present themselves, this may include but is not limited to; short notice prisoner transfers, prisoner bed watches and staff sickness absences.
  • Communicate and work in unison with the Training Coordinator to ensure the mandatory and desired training programs are scheduled/planned into the detail on a rolling basis.
  • Act as a central point of contact for colleagues who may wish to seek advice and/or guidance on shift patterns, annual leave, TOIL, or overtime etc.
  • Have an appropriate understanding and knowledge of the Central Detail Administrator's role in order to support and cover when necessary, in particular; preparation of the skeleton database, considering; sickness absence, annual leave, staff training, dependency leave or TOIL.
  • Provide monthly reports for the Senior Management Team capturing the running costs and efficiency savings within the Central Detail function.

What you'll need to do the role


This is an opportunity for an individual who has demonstratable experience in coordinating work at a higher level than administration.

It is vital that the individual is highly organised, have effective time management skills and excellent IT skills inclusive of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Having previous experience of rostering is desired, however training will be provided.

The successful post holder must be able to prioritise and manage their own workload. They must be a great team player but also be able to work effectively on their own. It is vital that they have good written and oral communication skills. A knowledge of custodial environments is desirable but not essential as training is provided.
