An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy assistant/administrator to join the highly dynamic renal pharmacy team at Imperial College NHS Trust.

This role will be focused on providing an efficient, high quality stock provision and medicines management service to the renal dialysis satellite units at Imperial College.

There are currently 10 dialysis unit attached to Imperial College which span over 8 geographical areas and provide care to over 1500 patients.

The individual will work closely with the lead dialysis pharmacist in managing this service in addition to assisting the renal homecare team and purchasing team.

The individual will supervisor 2 band 3 homecare assistants in delivery of the renal homecare services to transplantation and dialysis units.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has excellent interpersonal skills.

The individual will be required to travel to the various dialysis units on a regular basis and work alongside staff at each of the units.

In addition to this the individual will learn to develop and provide drug expenditure reports and have the opportunity to develop their dispensing, invoicing and purchasing skills.


  • To provide a high quality drug procurement service for renal dialysis satellite units
  • To provide a "top up" distribution service to renal dialysis satellite units (currently 10 units which are located across 8 geographical areas of North West London)
  • To ensure all orders and invoices for fluids and ESA therapies are processed in the appropriate timescale
  • To provide and assist the Lead Dialysis Pharmacist in drug expenditure analysis and reporting for the renal dialysis units and specialist drugs
  • To provide a high quality drug procurement service for renal home delivery patients
  • To ensure all invoices for drug purchases are processed in the appropriate times
