About our Opportunity:


Core Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the safe operation of glass manufacturing and projectbased equipment within a 24/7 shiftbased operation
  • Promote and lead the way in an exemplary safety culture within the St Helens site
  • Ensure all relevant process documentation and records are completed and signed off
  • Optimise operational efficiency of machines, minimising downtime
  • Carry out machine/control/ operational adjustments in line with SOP's/SSOW
  • Communicate all faults and production area issues to the Team Leaders
  • Competent in completing and working to risk assessments and completing method statements/SSOW & SOP's
  • Ensure continuous improvement activities are encouraged and deployed throughout the operations team
  • Ensure product sampling in conjunction with the QA release of product is verified and documented with Laboratory Staff

Skills & Experience

  • An advocate for the Glass Futures approach to culture, embodying our Values, Vision and Mission
  • Knowledge of glass manufacturing processes (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of LOTO and permits to work, inclusive of Hot Work, WAH, etc.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
  • Ideally FLT trained (training will be provided where necessary)
  • Basic knowledge/awareness and practical experience of Mechanical, Electrical and production systems
  • Indepth understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Basic First Aid and/or Fire Marshall qualifications (desirable)

Salary:

£30k per annum (includes shift allowance)


Working Hours:

Shift patterns includes Nights & Weekends.


Location:

Site based - St Helens with occasional travel


Holidays:

25 days holiday plus bank holidays (built into the shift pattern)
