Hywel Dda University Health Board has a new, exciting opportunity for a motivated, driven and passionate individual who would like to join the Medical Therapy Team as a generic Therapy Assistant Practitioner.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including other support workers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.


With the development of Therapy Assistant Practitioner posts the successful applicant will deliver rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of medical conditions.

Working both with the qualified therapists and autonomously to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and to promote safe and timely discharge.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Medical Therapy team.

The post holder will provide rehabilitation for patients on the Medical Wards at Glangwili Hospital, including delivery of exercise programmes, gait re-education and assisting patients to return to independence in the activities of daily living, such as washing and dressing.

You will work under supervision of the qualified therapists to provide an efficient, caring, patient focused service. You will be working as part of a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, alongside the wider multidisciplinary team.


The University Health Board proactively supports training and development both as part of internal and external CPD and you will be expected to complete appropriate mandatory training.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
