Goodman Masson are delighted to be supporting a leading social change Charity, that support vulnerable children and families.


They are looking for an interim Finance Manager to join their Finance team for 3-6 months, with a focus on Management accounting and cash-flow.


In this position you will:

  • Lead on the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner, including managing the monthend process, variance analysis and production of reports for the senior leadership team.
  • Engage with budget holders to provide financial advice
  • Oversee and manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions

Person Specification:

  • Fully qualified or partqualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Significant experience in the following: (ideally in a medium sized charity)
  • Month end closing, month end journals and production of management accounts.
  • Business partnering.
  • Managing the day to day operations of a finance function including accounts payable, accounts receivable and outsourced payroll.
  • Managing a finance team.
  • Responsibility for the accounting system (we use Xero).
  • Strong eye for detail with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to resolve problems effectively and has a flexibility and willingness to adapt as required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to form excellent working relationships with budget holders.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to nonfinancial managers, and support managers in the process of developing their financial skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage, motivate and develop a diverse range of individuals within a team.
  • Ability to juggle conflicting demands and prioritise personal and team workloads appropriately
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills (especially Excel) and the ability to use IT to ensure personal effectiveness.
