We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our thriving fruit and vegetable stand at Ted's Veg.

As a member of our team, you will contribute to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our stand.

Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting and purchasing fruits and vegetables, providing helpful and knowledgeable advice about their characteristics, uses, and nutritional benefits.
Ensure the presentation and organization of the stand are maintained at a high standard, including arranging and replenishing produce, keeping the area clean and tidy, and displaying prices and product information clearly.
Operate the EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) system accurately and efficiently, processing customer transactions, handling cash, and maintaining accurate records.
Assist with stock control, monitoring inventory levels, and notifying the manager of any shortages or discrepancies.
Collaborate with the team to receive deliveries, inspect the quality of incoming produce, and ensure proper storage and rotation of stock.
Actively engage with customers, providing excellent customer service, answering their inquiries, and addressing any concerns or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
Maintain a strong knowledge of our farmtotable produce, including the growing methods, seasonal availability, and flavor profiles, to offer personalized recommendations and enhance the customer experience.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of produce, maintaining cleanliness, and following food safety guidelines.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
Familiarity with using an EPOS system is a bonus.
Passion for fruits and vegetables, with knowledge of different varieties, seasonal availability, and nutritional benefits, is a bonus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with customers.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to ensure accurate transactions and maintain a wellorganized stand.
Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment, handle multiple tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
Availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays, with the possibility of weekday shifts based on business needs.
Flexibility with working hours, including early morning starts (7 am) and evening shifts (until 6 pm).
