Accounts Assistant - Colnbrook, United Kingdom - National Staff Services
Description
The main purpose of this role is to ensure that queries in regard to purchases/sales accounts are dealt with, cash allocation, making sure KWE group and UK suppliers are paid on time and also Adhoc admin duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Payable
- Reconcile supplier accounts to payable ledgers monthly to ensure all invoices appearing on supplier group receivable statements are reconciled with invoices appearing on our ledger.
- Keyoff invoices to ensure they appear in the accounts payable ledger and key off transport invoices on UFS.
- Prepare remittance advices detailing invoices contained in payment.
- Pay foreign suppliers by wire transfer.
- Posting of foreign invoices to UFS
Collections
- Send statements monthly and on request.
- Phone/Fax/Email customers to chase payment.
- Ensure group companies have invoice and relevant backup.
- Attend finance meetings to ensure issues are communicated on a timely basis.
- Review aged debtors report to ensure all overseas debtors are chased.
Contra's
- Matchup purchase and sales accounts where contra's are authorised by the finance
- Manage and agree net settlements with overseas debtors/creditors.
Queries
- Follow up on queries in relation to sales/purchase to ensure credits are received where necessary
Cash
- Allocation of receipts/payments
- Enter bank statements on UAS
DUTIES & PERFORMANCE
- All queries with regard to purchases/sales accounts dealt with accurately and efficiently
- Cash allocation
- Overseas suppliers are paid in a timely manner
- Control is maintained over overseas debtors
- KWE Group & appointed agents
- Adhoc duties as and when required.
- CASS Imports/Exports.
- Weekly exchange rates
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge:
- General office rules and regulations;
- M/S Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint and Outlook).
Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Accuracy in working with large amounts of data;
Ability to:
- Deal with difficult and sensitive situations.
- Use tact and diplomacy with all employees and customers.
- Maintain good relationships with employees, outside agencies and others necessary to obtain or provide information.
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- Work on own initiative.
- Work from skeleton guidelines.
- Assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.

£28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- Colnbrook: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
