**CAD Design Engineer- SolidWorks**
Salary up to £35,000 pa
Flexible Hours - Early finish on a Friday
A SolidWorks CAD Design Engineer is required to join one of the UK's leading specialised vehicle conversion company.
The CAD Design Engineer will work closely with internal departments and transfer information from the sales documents and produce technicalengineering 2D & 3D drawings for both internal and external suppliers.
CAD Design Engineer - Key Roles and Duties:
- Use a 2D and 3D CAD software programmes, mainly SolidWorks to create designs models
- Create highquality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by Sales and Engineering departments and also make modifications to existing drawings
- Liaise with customers and engineers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians
- Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings
- Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols
- Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture, construction and conversion
- Produce installation and manufacturing documentation
- Maintain accurate records
Key Competences Required:
- Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings
- IT skills and experience using computeraided design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- The ability to transfer, display and manipulate your work using Microsoft Office and other programmes
- Attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings
- Communication skills and relationship building to work with clients and other engineers to understand and interpret their designs
- Organisation and time management to complete work to project deadlines
- A flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice
- Mathematical skills to complete calculations and estimates
- Spatial and design skills to be able to visualise projects in 2D and 3D
- Problem solving, creativity and innovation in order to come up with solutions to design problems
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
- Engineering qualification or significant experience in relevant discipline
- Significant experience of in the use of Solid Modelling design software (preferably SolidWorks but similar would be considered).
Desirable:
- Experience in an automotive role / vehicle conversions
- Experience working with sheet metal/fabrication
Salary Guide:
£25,000 - £35,000 pa
Flexible Hours: 40 hour working week
- Mon-Thur 7am to 4pm, Fri: 7am to 1pm
OR Mon - Thur 8am 5pm, Fri: 7am to 2pm
Location:
in the Earls Colne area - Own transport required due to location
