Description
We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager for a well-regarded law firm based in Birmingham city centre.


The role requires someone who will assist in the smooth running of the practice by attending to the various financial transactions arising from the work of the Firm and its internal operation.


You will assist in the effective and timely running of the Finance Department to ensure that it provides the appropriate services for the Firm's clients and to all departments of the Firm.


  • Have experience working with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
  • Possess the skills necessary for the performance of the duties of Finance Manager, including the ability to communicate well with fee earners, clients, and suppliers and to maintain the standards set by the firm.
  • Be able to work collaboratively within the Finance team and across the Firm.
  • Have worked in a similar Finance Manager role previously, preferably within a legal practice.

The role includes:

  • Supervising and carrying out on a daytoday basis all functions required in connection with the financial and accounts aspects of the firm.
  • Supervising and controlling all duties carried out in the Finance Department and to delegate such of these as are necessary for the smooth running of the Department.
  • Daytoday management of the cashiering team, including appraisals.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Processing client matters through the Finance Department and keeping appropriate records.
  • Ensuring monthly billing is completed promptly and month end close downs are on a timely basis.
  • Disseminating information relating to all financial and Finance Department matters to all fee earners and other members of staff as appropriate.
