Overview
We are looking for a dynamic self-starter for our newly developed home-based position.

Working with our small team of dedicated staff and involved trustees, you'll be able to help us to develop and deliver our programme of digital events, driving increased attendance and membership through a high-quality, high-profile schedule of events.

You'll have a sound working knowledge of digital platforms for event delivery, and be competent in updating website content and using the back-end functionality to monitor attendance, bookings and analytics.


We are looking to develop a team centred around the Leeds area of the country and seek someone able to travel to the Leeds area for training and meetings.

Interviews will be held online in April 2024. Dates will be confirmed with shortlisted applicants.

"The Association of Child Protection Professionals is a UK-based, international membership organisation for those working across the many disciplines within Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding. Our members are practitioners, managers, senior leaders, academics, policy makers, trainers and more.


We are a charity and we provide support, professional development and representation to government and policy makers for those working in child protection and safeguarding.

Duties

  • Lead the development and drive delivery of a successful programme of online learning events, webinars and virtual conferences for child protection professionals.
  • Detailed planning for virtual events including the sourcing of appropriate software/platforms, identifying suitable dates and times that fit with all speakers and hosts, arranging timings within the events, setting up prerecording of presentations (where appropriate), planning the online event format.
  • Liaise directly with event speakers and trainers to obtain speaker biographies, headshots, session overviews and share this information with the Digital Marketing and Content Creator.
  • Upload event information and content to the AoCPP's website, using website (WordPress, Tickera and woo commerce) functionality to manage and monitor event bookings and attendance.
  • Liaise with the Finance and Membership Officer with regards to payments and member enquiries that may arise through events.
  • Collate and analyse feedback about the events and learning programme, including constantly looking at ways to improve events and event processes.
  • Maintain an awareness of the child protection sector and current trends to identify likely topics of interest for future events.
  • Analyse results of membership surveys to look for themes for future podcast and events.
  • Research and explore ideas for different event formats and learning experiences, both in person and virtual, which could benefit our members and wider audiences.
  • Maintain an overview of the events programme, status of planning, bookings, income and expenditure, etc, and report on these to the Operations Manager and Board of Trustees as required.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing and Content Creator to create high quality recordings of speakers for AoCPP's virtual events programme, ensuring excellent sound and video quality.
  • Provide cover for the AoCPP Office team during periods of absence this will include general administration, monitoring of inboxes etc.
  • Model AoCPP's values and ways of working.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety and Safeguarding regulations are adhered to including working within the relevant risk assessments.
  • To be responsible for your own continuing selfdevelopment, undertaking training as appropriate to the working environment and position.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential
Undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience in Event Management, Online Event Management or similar field.

Proven experience as an Event Coordinator or similar role, ideally within the third sector

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines

Experience of delivering events online

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong IT Skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use back-end website functionality


Desirable
Understanding of the charity sector in the UK and the issues it faces.

Experience of Microsoft Dynamics.

Podcast production experience.
