King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is an oversubscribed 11-18 academy serving a vibrant and diverse community.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Receptionist to join our busy main office team. To provide comprehensive reception support, together with administrative duties, ensuring consistent and outstanding customer service at all times.


Applicants will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible and will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and have the ability to multitask.

Previous school office experience and or front of house reception experience is desirable.

Applicants must be competent in the use of ICT packages and data systems and have excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

Reporting to the Headteacher's PA /Office Manager

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- delivering an effective reception service including answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries, from visitors, contractors, staff, and students.
- to arrange and record appointments for Academy teaching and support staff in the reception diary
- issue of visitor and contractor passes in accordance with the Academy safeguarding process
- receipt, distribution, and accurate recording of deliveries, sorting and distributing internal and external mail, both incoming and out-going
- telephone enquiries - to record and to pass accurate messages to Academy staff and students, and to forward calls to appropriate telephone extensions
- to provide support to the Academy's administration team. To undertake clerical duties related to the post such as production of letters, reports and other documents as requested using relevant ICT packages such as spreadsheets, databases, Word and SIMS to produce accurate and well-presented information.
- to maintain basic student data and a range of record systems
- to maintain accurate filing/archiving systems
- to undertake any photocopying as required
- to arrange hospitality for staff and visitors
- to undertake appropriate training applicable to the role

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- to perform such other duties from time to time commensurate with grade as directed by your Line Manager or the Principal
