We have an opening for a
Planning Manager to join Sovereign Housing Association, working across our East region.

This opportunitywill be based out of our Basingstoke offices, and include a mix of on-site visits, home and office-based working.

What you'll be doing

This role will be key in supporting the development team with all planning matters acrossthe organisation.

This role will involve ensuring the directorate are fully informed of the performance of developments, through transparent reporting.

This role will be focussing on forward prediction of performance and proposed solutions to mitigate potential deteriorationin time, cost and quality outcomes.


There will be several key stakeholders therefore the role will require the successful applicant to maintain excellent relationships with internal clients keeping them engaged in projects as required and ensuring the timely flow of accurate information toallow the successful letting and selling of new homes, up to the 'agreed milestone'.


The role will also include:


  • Liaising with external planning team on the development of new site proposals.
  • Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
  • Preparing budgets and overseeing the financial administration of planning projects.
  • Managing planning compliance of conditions and S106 Planning Obligations.

What we need from you

  • Recent knowledge of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and awareness of selected Local Authority Neighbourhood and Local Plans.
  • Experience preparing or instructing planning reports to support bid submissions or land purchases.
  • An understanding of S106 Planning Obligations
  • Proven experience writing accurate and proactive project reports, focussing on forward prediction of performance and proposed solutions to mitigate potential deterioration in time, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Previous use of management information and IT systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Membership or completed training (RTPI)


There will be a requirement to travel from time to time in this role so you should have a full UK licence and access to your own transport.
