Our client manufactures and installs fibre optic cabling solutions to a range of blue chip customers in the telecoms and data centre sectors in the UK and overseas.

These customers rely critically upon their data infrastructure as the key asset of theirbusiness and as a consequence the team they have developed during their 30 years in the industry, are vital to that success and delivery of those projects.

With attention to detail and a though understanding of their required service levels, this role is importantacross the manufacturing and delivery to sites across the country.


  • Purpose of the Role_
To assist the Warehouse & Logistics Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of Warehouse, Logistics & Assembly Departments.

Responsible for the day to day supervision of people within the Warehouse & Assembly function along with ensuring company targetsand objectives are achieved to meet customer requirements.

Also ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.

The role is also responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the warehouse & assembly functions. You would also deputise for the Warehouse & Logistics Manager as and when required.

The primary responsibility of the Warehouse/ Assembly Supervisor is to: Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
  • Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements
  • Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage
  • Physical Check of all deliveries
  • Packaging and Contents
  • Cross reference goods in on the system and complete Splicegroup Goods inwards inspection record
  • Constantly work to improve processes
  • 100% quality checks of deliveries to be completed and recorded.
  • Make suggestions for productivity improvements
  • Book couriers/carriers and ensure goods are dispatched and delivered on time
  • Track inventory levels
  • Record and communicate all shortage issues to the relevant Department
  • Optimize employee workflow
  • Train, guide and evaluate new warehouse workers.
  • Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained.
  • Complete Cycle counts and Stock takes
  • Order new supplies in a timely manner
  • Supervise the dispatch, receipt and issuing of equipment and tools requiring Calibration
  • Excellent timemanagement skills
  • Training will be given.
  • Deputise for the Warehouse & Logistics Manager when required.
  • Conduct incident, accident and nonconformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure
Principal activities

  • Pick and Pack materials as per the issued BOM and dispatch
  • Attain and maintain a level of knowledge and capability of Splicegroup products and terminologies
  • Occasional deliveries to Customer sites and collection of materials
  • Liaise with transport companies to ensure best service and costs
  • Responsible for the Stock holding of EE and LBG and LBG QTA Stock
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tidy
  • Represent the company in external relationships in a professional manner

  • Educated to G/CSE level.

Skills and experience

  • Essential_
  • Experience in working in a warehouse environment with picking and packing experience
  • Able to lead and motivate employees to succeed by utilising appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction


  • IT literate

  • Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 1400
  • Working relationships with freight and transport companies
  • Ability to manage inventory
  • Physically able to load and unloading of vehicles
  • Preparation of export documentation
  • Full current driving licence
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fork lift Truck Licence

  • Previous understanding of running a Warehouse & Assembly Department, such as health and safety and quality requirements
