About the role;


As a key member of the senior management team and the Housing Operations Management Team, the Head of Asset Management and Sustainability is the Association's lead expert on law, regulation and best practice in all issues relating to asset management, property services, building safety, procurement and sustainability.


The role is responsible for ensuring that the Association's housing stock and buildings are kept in the best possible condition, maintaining full compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.


Additionally, the role oversees the delivery of the Associations high quality, customer focused services, ensuring through the Procurement Manager that the Association has a robust procurement strategy for all areas of the business and that high quality value for money works and supplies are procured across the organisation - meeting legal requirements in accordance with the Association's financial regulations, policies and procedures.


The Head of Asset Management and Sustainability provides strategic overview and advice to the Executive Team and Board across asset management, planned works, compliance and sustainability.

Leading on the Association's Asset Management Strategy using stock surveys and appraisals to plan the long-term future of the Associations housing stock and property/land holdings.


About You;
We are looking for someone that has the below qualities:

  • Be able to lead on the Association's Asset Management Strategy, undertaking options appraisals which consider the development potential of existing stock and land, homes with low demand, stock rationalisation, Decent Homes Standard, sustainability and net zero carbon, health and safety, and regulatory requirements;
  • A professional technical qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB or equivalent) or making considering progress towards achieving this;
  • Experience of working at a senior level in asset management or procurement in the public or private sector;
  • Strategic planning and development of future service provision, with an understanding of the wider business environment and business development strategies;
  • Developing, motivating and leading high performing teams, demonstrating strong leadership and change management skills;
  • Comprehensive understanding of traditional and modern procurement processes;
  • Ability to deal with a changing working environment and to guide other staff through this process;
  • Flexible approach to hours worked and ability to cover out of hours emergencies on a rota basis.
