Woodbridge

Up to £65k + Package

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join an exciting and rapidly-growing company, who are trusted suppliers of investigative software that turns data into intelligence and evidence.

They have been providing law enforcementwith innovative software solutions since 2011.

They are established in most of the UK's Police Forces and Government Agencies and are growing exponentially across North America.

Responsibilities

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the Finance Director & other senior stakeholders
Timely and accurate delivery of the monthend close process and providing required information to support monthly management pack
Managing the halfyear and yearend annual accounts process including the completion of any audit requirements
Manage the daytoday relationship with the group's auditors including fees and minimise overruns
Own the group's IFRS accounting policies and ensure timely adoption of changes to accounting standards, also ensuring compliance with standards and upfront identification of management estimates and interpretation, with accounting papers approved by theFinance Director as necessary
Providing commentary and reports on the monthend/halfyear/annual accounts for both internal and external stakeholders
Production of quarterly, halfyear and yearend reports if required when/if the company is listed, or to third parties such as banks
Developing, documenting & improving business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Processing and managing monthly payroll, including pension payments
Processing and managing quarterly VAT returns, and coordinate overseas specialist advisors to ensure compliance with applicable equivalent sales tax reporting
Preparation of annual budgets for departments
Liaising with external firms such as auditors, HRMC, tax partners and banks
Manage Accounts Assistant in issuing invoices and processing bills as well as making payments
Contributing to business plans and forecasting the future performance of the business
Adhoc projects within the finance department as required
Supporting in preparing the finance team and wider business for a potential IPO
Support for acquisitions, including financial due diligence, postacquisition integration and acquisition accounting
Own the group's treasury processes to ensure liquidity and management of FX risks
Review and monitoring of the Groups tax position, calculations, and filings
Oversight of the group's Hubspot CRM system to ensure it provides accurate, complete, and timely reporting and forecasting
Line management of the Management Accountant & Accounts Assistant, ensuring development plans are in place and assisting the FD in the recruitment and development of future hires into the finance team

Experience

Bachelor's degree
Fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Significant postqualified experience in a similar Financial Controller position
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Ideally also Sage
Experience in audit and/or working within an internal finance department in a similar role is highly desirable
Experience leading and developing a team
Experience in producing basic models
Experience of one or more of the following is not a prerequisite but would be highly desirable:
Working with the technology sector/SaaS
Financial due diligence and postacquisition integration, particularly in the US
Working in a small, growing listed company
