Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist, looking to develop their skills and competencies in working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.

This post would be suitable for an upcoming newly qualified practitioner or an existing Band 5 SLT looking to extend their experience in different clinical areas.

This post is a permanent position.

Hours per week: 37.5

You will join our forward-thinking Adult SLT team at Macclesfield District General Hospital to deliver high quality care. There will be opportunities to work on the general inpatient wards, voice clinics and in a community setting.

Patients will be seen in a diverse range of settings including acute wards, outpatient clinics, patient home, care home or virtually.

Your timetable can be developed as you progress, depending on your area of interest.

The post will offer the opportunity to attend an accredited post registration basic dysphagia course and to develop dysphagia competencies, with the support of senior colleagues.

You will have good knowledge of up-to-date assessment and treatment procedures for the adult population and will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in working with adults with acquired disorders.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are required.

You will be based with other SLT's in a small but well-established, friendly team with a wide range of skills and expertise.

We will be able to offer a preceptorship programme, ongoing support, regular team meetings, and clinical supervision as part of your CPD.

Applications welcome from students expecting to graduate this summer.
