Commercial Counter Fraud Specialist - Inside IR35**
Contract Term: until end of December 2023

Contracting Authority:

Location:
hybrid - Birmingham, Edinburgh, London, Salford

This role will be part of the Commercial Sustainability & Policy team.

This team is responsible for driving improved sustainability outcomes through commercial processes, putting tools and guidance in place for commercial and wider stakeholder groups to enable them to manage sustainability risks, and to ensure compliance against commercial regulations and wider policies and legislation.

You will develop and begin implementation of the Counter-Fraud action plan.

This plan should establish the risk appetite of the DESNZ / DSIT Commercial Function, in partnership with each Departments' central counter-fraud teams.

The plan should identify opportunities to improve our fraud identification (whether potential or actual fraud) and set out ways to mitigate this risk.

This must be achieved with low-friction interventions that still allow the Departments to respond rapidly to changing external environments and to deliver our vital work.


In developing and delivering the counter-fraud action plan, you will ensure that it is complimentary to other action plans in Commercial and the wider business, integrating collaborative opportunities wherever possible.

Best practise is to be shared in x-Government Commercial Forums and with DESNZ / DSIT Partner Organisations. The plan must also be deliverable by the team when your tenure concludes.

You must include an upskilling of the Commercial Function to the extent necessary to implement appropriate controls and processes to meet the fraud risk appetite.


Your role will be to bring your counter-fraud experience to this team.

They are responsible for several high impact action plans, including
:


  • Modern Slavery (how do we continue to evolve our understanding and approach to managing the risks of modern slavery in our supply chains).
  • Diverse Suppliers (how to we reduce barriers to entry for SMEs, VCSEs and Diverse Led suppliers to join our supply chains).
  • Social Value (how do we use our procured contracts to deliver additional social value).
  • Scope 3 Decarbonisation (how do we decarbonise our supply chain).
  • Prompt Payment (how do we improve our payment performance to our suppliers).
  • Counter-Fraud (how do we minimise the risk of fraud in our supply chains).

You'll have relevant experience in:


  • Working within counter fraud within the public, private or third sector.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
  • Attention to detail and a proven track record of delivering counter fraud activities.
  • Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
