Job Title:
Health and Safety Officer

Bristol Professional Services, a subsidiary of The City of Bristol College, is currently seeking a
proactive and committed Health and Safety Officer to join their team. As a Health and Safety Officer,
you would be responsible for ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to within the
organization to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.


About the role:
Partners in Bristol is looking to appoint an entry level Health and Safety Officer to join the college H&S
team. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an aspiring H&S professional. Every day is
different at the college, different day, different site, different people but all working together to keep
staff and students safe.

This role will give opportunities along with the expectation to enhance your practical skills over a wide
range of vocational areas, and with a commitment to your professional qualifications within a large,
dynamic, multi-disciplinary, multi-site organisation.
You will report to the Health and Safety Manager and assist in maintaining, as far as is reasonably
practicable, a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with the College's Health and
Safety Policy, Statutory Requirements and Approved Codes of Practice. You will be part of a small
professional team providing a comprehensive advisory, auditing and internal regulatory service, on
Occupational Health and Safety throughout the College.


What we are looking for:
You will ideally have an Occupational Safety and Health qualification to at least NEBOSH Certificate
level, and some practical experience of undertaking health and safety in a work environment.
You will be a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative and also under direction while
participating in and contributing to the work of the team.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Experience of working within an educational/training environment.
  • Experience of working in a multisite organisation.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary organisation.
