Description

A successful engineering business require a Buyer. Applicants need purchasing experience as a Buyer within manufacturing or engineering.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The focus of the role will be on operational procurement tasks, driving the supply chain against OTD/OTIF metrics.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

Purchasing materials, services, components in-line with project or programme requirements
Analyse procurement department data to make decisions
Assist Procurement Manager with supplier visits, auditing and assessment activities
Supplier Management and Development activities
Coordinate with customers and suppliers the movement of products to project locations

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

Procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering, as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, Senior Buyer etc.
Supplier Management experience experience of supplier/subcontractor visits would be desirable
MRP/ERP literate
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A technical appreciation of engineering, manufacturing methods, drawings/BOMs would be highly desirable
