Lingfield Park Racecourse are looking for an experienced Cellar Supervisor to join their race day management team.

The Person

Be a team player; working as an integral part of our casual race day team to ensure everything is running smoothly

Responsibilities:

To ensure that all bars and hospitality areas are stocked with the correct products for the event.
Ensure that bar and public areas are kept clean and tidy before, during and after opening hours and to undertake cleaning duties as required paying particular attention to Health and Safety and COSHH Guidelines.
Maintain stock levels and rotation behind bars and storage areas in order to avoid waste and assist with stocktaking.
Adhere to and follow all licensing policies and procedures.
Ensure that you and your team adhere to company procedures regarding allergens.
Record wastage in line with venue procedures and dispose of rubbish in line with any onsite recycling initiatives.
To assist with the training and development of your team, developing skills and maximising performance through coaching of individual team members.
Responsibility for ensuring that staff are signed in/out, fully briefed and given allocated breaks in accordance to SOP's. Adjusting staffing levels as required in line with business requirements.
Be able to advise guests on all products available within the venue.
To promote a happy and welcoming atmosphere within the venue.
Show commercial awareness in order to continuously drive the business forwards.
To be proactive in maximising sales and generating revenue.
To take prompt action to resolve complaints according to company policy.
Give clear direction and guidelines to team members.
Ensure that PPE is worn where necessary.
Ensure all paperwork is completed fully in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensure all orders are dispensed and rung through tills using the prescribed Racecourse procedure.
Ensure all tills are closed down in accordance with company procedures.
To have clear working knowledge of all company policies and operate within them at all times.
To ensure staff awareness of relevant company policies.
Undertake other reasonable duties in line with business demands.

Skills and Qualities

Experience of working in a cellars either in bars, restaurants or hotels.
Proven track record in a previous relevant position.
Be smart, polite, professional and well presented at all times.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and customer care skills.
Flexibility, adaptability and a passion for quality standards and service.
The ability to adopt the values of the Arena Racing Company.
The ability to work with a smile on your face whatever the weather.
To work with honesty and integrity.
Experience in operating tills and PDQ machines.
Be knowledgeable in licensing, food hygiene and health & safety theory and implementation.
Personal Licence Holder (desirable)
