Role Overview

Trigon Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor with a well established and expanding independent Charity in the London area.

The provider is an exciting, innovative organisation with a unique delivery and business model, it deliversmultiple contracts across adult education and employability within a range of vocational areas.

This is a full time permanent role which offers a competitive salary for the right applicant. The role will be focused around Maths and English though other deliverywould also be welcomed.

Duties of Functional Skills Tutor

Regularly monitor and assess learners from starting point through to attainment of skills and qualifications
Support learners undertaking the qual to progress at least one level higher as part of the clients academy programme, through coaching and development using a blended approach and differentiated learning, ensuring learner engagement is excellent
Fully prepare learners for all elements of their exams including speaking and listening, reading and writing
Ensure exams are booked, results chased and published
Be familiar with eportfolio systems
Experienced with BKSB
Contribute to best practice and standardisation meeting
All associated administration relating Functional Skills
Supporting vocational colleagues to enhance their English and Maths delivery within their sessions

Essential Criteria

Must be a qualified Functional Skills Tutor and hold relevant qualification
Have experience delivering Functional Skills from Entry level to level 2 in Maths and English
Competence in developing learners through formal training, coaching and mentoring
IAG Level 3 is desirable
Good communication skills
IQA Qualification
Remote working but when required to travel covering Greater London area
Organised
Knowledge of booking exams
