Are you an SEMH Teaching Assistant looking to work with vulnerable, hard-to-reach primary aged pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour?
An exciting SEMH Teaching Assistant opportunity has become available, working at a Pupil Referral Unit near Central Birmingham.

** £400 - £450 per week

The SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:


As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting learning with small classes, helping children with their work, improving engagement throughout the classroom, and effectively managing behaviour.

You will also work with pupils on a 1:1 basis, assistingwith learning or providing pastoral/behaviour support and in small groups, leading reading and phonics work.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will also lead nurture work, ensuring you are creating a stimulating, safe environment for the younger childrento learn in.


The SEMH Teaching Assistant:
To be eligible for this SEMH Teaching Assistant position, you must hold a Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant qualification. It is important that you have experience working with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and SEN. Behaviour is challenging at this school,so you must be a strong SEMH Teaching Assistant with a resilient personality.

This Pupil Referral Unit caters for pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and SEN that cannot be met by a mainstream setting.

The school has excellent leadership and a strong CPD programme.
