Court of Protection Solicitor (NQ - 2 Years PQE)

Salary DOE

South Manchester - Hybrid

Due to our client's growth and expansion, we are looking for a talented Court of Protection Solicitor to join our award-winning law firm.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Managing a mixed caseload of deputy administration cases including clients with complex needs and high value litigation awards.
  • Working closely with clients who lack capacity together with family members and often as part of an MDT.
  • Take instructions from the client and liaising with the deputy in order to progress best interest's decisions in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Providing advice on the applicable law, procedures and legal issues relating to the client's case.
  • Draft documents, letters, court documentation and contracts tailored to the client's individual needs.
  • Negotiate with clients and other professionals to secure the agreed objectives.
  • Keep the client informed on the progress of their case, including funding, insurance arrangements, ongoing costs, issues, and money held in client account.
  • Instruct Counsel and experts to provide advice and representation on the client's case.
  • Comply with all Court and tribunal deadlines.
  • Represent clients in tribunals and in Courts where required.
  • Supervise and delegate work to Court of Protection administrators as well as paralegals as appropriate.
  • Liaise with Costs Draftsmen.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Admitted to the Law Society roll of solicitors.
  • No ongoing regulatory investigations or regulatory restrictions arising from your work for solicitors' firms.
  • No unspent criminal convictions or any convictions at all for dishonesty.
