Team Manager

Purpose

  • The Curtis Banks Group owns a commercial property portfolio of c.6000 properties with a
value of over £1billion. The Property Team of 50+ individuals administer properties across the
United Kingdom the use of which ranges from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

  • We are looking for an individual to join an existing team of 8 which has been created to
conduct a complete risk and data review of the property portfolio.

  • Experience working in a property environment is essential. As there will be a strong interplay
able to operate within a regulated environment and work successfully to project targets and
deadlines.

  • The role would suit professional individuals with experience of residential/commercial
conveyancing and/or commercial property management.

of the portfolio


Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Property Audit Team Manager and wider team to review, analyse and
interpret property legal documents, to identifying risk & liability that falls outside company and
regulatory standards, and recording risks and taking action as required to mitigate the risks
identified.

  • Assist the Property Audit Team Manager and wider team to identify and resolve where
applicable ongoing SIPP and property management issues arising from the file audits to ensure the
smooth and compliant management of property and accuracy of system data for ongoing
management.

  • To maintain and develop relationships with internal and external customers including property
tenants, solicitors, lenders, surveyors, SIPP investors and financial advisers to ensure accurate
communication of information in respect of all processes, controls and requirements to manage
customer expectations.

  • Deliver a high level of quality, accuracy and consistency in the review of each property.
  • Work successfully to project targets and deadlines.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant controls such as internal risk controls, data protection,
money laundering and ensure compliance of all regulatory, business and legal requirements.

  • To consistently promote and adhere to the treating customers fairly (TCF) outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Professional Qualification (Property Solicitor / Legal Executive / Licenced Conveyancer / RICS /
Paralegal etc.) - Desirable

  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent at grades A-C (or equivalent) to include English and Maths (Essential)
  • Certificate in Financial Planning level 1 (or equivalent) (Desirable)
  • Certificate in Financial Administration FA2 (or equivalent) (Desirable)

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of general commercial property conveyancing principles, associated legal
matters and VAT (Essential).

  • Strong Landlord & Tenant knowledge (Essential)
  • Strong understanding of SIPPs, surrounding legislation & regulatory requirements (Desirable)
  • Basic systems navigation skills (including Microsoft packages). (Essential)

  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. (Essential)
  • Good people and interpersonal skills to build up effective relationships at all levels internally and
externally. (Essential)

  • Ability to prioritise own workload to ensure that quality work is delivered on time and efficiently

  • Ability to work well and keep calm under pressure. (Essential)
  • Ability to understand the needs of our customers and be focused around customer outcomes
balancing this with risk to the Curtis Banks Group corporate entities. (Essential)
