Description

Accountant - AAT qualified and with 5 years' relevant experience required by our client, a long-established medium-sized Chartered Accountants in the West End with a broad range of clients.

particularly supporting FCA regulated entities, barristers, mediaand property clients.

They are looking for an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to join their outsourced client accounts and bookkeeping department where you will work on a number of clients in different sectors.

You should be happy working as part of a busy team, sometimes dealingwith work to deadlines and able to think laterally and identify potential problems and provide potential solutions, along with being able to show initiative and take ownership of issues to completion.

A good grasp of double entry bookkeeping and experience of maintaining bookkeeping records on a digital platform
Experience of dealing with clients' queries re bookkeeping and VAT and able to give clear and concise explanations to queries.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and able to communicate with clients from a range of sectors.

You should have experience of the following:

Preparation of VAT Returns including VAT legislation and VAT treatment
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for Partner/Client review
Accounting for monthly adjustments (prepayments, accrued & deferred income and accruals) as part of preparing management accounts
Recording bank payments, receipts and bank reconciliations
Recording sales and purchase ledger
Control account reconciliations
Dealing with transactions in foreign currencies
Broad understanding of PAYE, National Insurance and pensions
