Peace Recruitment are delighted to have partnered with a reputable tier-one main contractor currently seeking a planner to join their team based in Glasgow.
As a planner within the team, you will be exposed to exciting projects and work closely with the broader team You will be responsible for providing a timely, effective, and professional planning service.
Duties
- Provide planning support to business unit bids,
- Work with the bid team to successfully create commercially attractive tender solutions
- Liaise with key supply chain to ensure compliance and alignment with programme strategy
- Provide planning support to live projects, ensuring compliance with procedures and the utmost regard for health and safety
- Provide regular updates on progress, forecast position, and programme risk to the Project Manager/Operations Director
- Work closely with the operations director to ensure a successful project delivery
- Ensure operational programme reporting follows Critical Path Analysis principles and provides analysis and commentary on consumption of programme float
- Assist Project Management Teams in the development of recovery strategy and reprogramming where contract delay/s have been encountered
Requirements:
- knowledge of design, procurement and commercial processes, and the interdependencies and impact on planning and programming;
- experience working as a planner or planning assistant
- knowledge of first principles planning, including the use of productivity outputs and resource analysis;
- Awareness of forms of contract and construction law;
- Software operations relevant to job role [Asta Powerproject, MSProject]
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Effectively deal with clients / consultants / subcontractors
- Demonstrate ability to solve problems in a customerfocused manner;
- Computer literate
