Key Responsibilities:


  • Play a lead role to set up an organised, efficient stores model (including tools store) in line with HSE requirements and the following quality standards: BS EN 1090 and ISO 900
  • Ensure the stores area is always immaculate and that all items and tools are correctly placed and labelled.
  • Pick fittings for works orders accurately and efficiently, working to the daily Production Plan. Must have flexibility/ resilience to quickly adapt to last minute changes to the Production Plan.
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to proactively chase late or missing orders.
  • Be responsible for all parts, stores and accurate stock control, working closely with the Purchasing Department to control stock levels.
  • Ensure Purchase Order/ Goods In paperwork is fully and accurately completed to comply with BS EN 1090 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Set up a process for conducting regular stock takes and running these at regular intervals.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner with a forklift.
  • Check/ inspect all goods inwards against purchase orders for quantity and quality, ensuring they meet high standards.
  • Manage goods returns/damages/ shortages.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any faults for wear and tear. For example carry out daily forklift truck checks and required tool checks.
  • Assist with workshop Health & Safety checks, such as weekly fire extinguisher, emergency light and fire alarm checks.
  • Carry out other tasks as required to get the job done e.g. assist with production in the Workshop

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:


  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Strong team player who can work well under mínimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritise workload and adapt positively and efficiently to last minute changes.
  • Good general education including English and Maths.
  • Proven experience running a productive engineering stores area.
  • Current forklift licence and prior experience of driving a forklift preferable, however we will consider putting the right applicant through forklift training.
  • Due to our rural location you must hold a valid driving licence and have your own transport.
