REED Accountancy are currently working with a modern and energetic firm seeking an accountant to join their team

Our client started in 2004 and over the last 19 years, has grown to a turnover of £1m and employs 10 people.

Clients include tech start-ups, property development companies, recruiters, research businesses, PR companies, etc, but no one man bands or lifestylebusinesses.

They are very informal firm, we wear relaxed clothing (no suits) and have a flat hierarchy.

Currently seeking an accountant to join our team.

Working under the supervision of our founder, the accountant will spend approximately 80% of their time preparing FRS102 1a accounts and tax returns (Corporate, Personal, Partnership tax returns as well asR&D tax claims) and 20% of their time helping with other colleagues work and training them up.

Detailed job requirements
Client Communication

High levels of written and spoken English
Communication with clients in plain English with no accounting jargon. You must be able to communicate in a way that makes clients valued, respected and puts them at ease.
Experience of building professional relationships with clients
Ability to advise clients on accounting and tax issues

Accounting and Tax

Experience in FRS 102 1a account production (ideally using Tax Calc and Xero Workpapers) including detailed disclosure notes
Experience with producing corporation tax returns including S455 and group tax relief and capital allowances
Ability to calculate R&D claims and ideally also VGTR
Experience with partnership tax returns
Experience with self assessment tax returns

Professional qualifications

Qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT / CTA or qualified by experience

Salary:
£40k - £50k depending on experience
