Little Brook house in Warsash is looking to recruit Care assistants who have the potential to become senior staff and work in our care home.
We look after people living with dementia in a homely setting with beautiful grounds. Experience essential, training provided and ideally have DBS. Must be able to work alternate weekends.Job Purpose:
To provide the highest standards of care for the residents under the guidance and supervision of senior staff.
Specific Duties:
- To ensure the highest levels of care are maintained by supporting residents with their daily living needs including aids, washing, dressing, bathing, warmth, nutrition, hydration and toilet requirements.
- To report any significant changes in the health or well-being of residents.
- Responding promptly to the call-bell system.
- To ensure that all required care planning is completed in line with company and legal legislation.
- To carry out all infection control, PPE usage and waste disposal.
- To undertake the administration of medication with the appropriate training.
- To carry out or participate in various group or individual activities.
- To undertake occasional light food preparation, cooking and serving.
- To observe all undertakings of the Keyworker system.
- To welcome visitors, professionals and room enquiries.
- To help maintain the tidying and cleanliness of the home.
- To collect and launder residents clothing as required.
- To adhere to the duty rota set out.
General:
- To report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate person in charge and record it in the accident and incident book.
- To develop an understanding of risk management and report any identified health and safety hazards to the appropriate person in charge.
- To participate in any training relevant to the post.
- To maintain the confidentiality and data protection policy at all times.
- To maintain a standard of personal appearance and uniform policy.
- To uphold the equal opportunities policy at all times.
- To have a good knowledge of the safeguarding policy.
- To report all complaints to the relevant person in charge to be handled appropriately.
- Be aware of the sickness policy and procedure for sickness reporting and absence management.
- To adhere to fire safety within the home.
- To attend planned meetings and reviews.
- To understand the 'whistleblowing' policy.
- To undertake any other duties that might be reasonably required.

Salary:
£10.42-£10.90 per hour
