Main duties of the job:


The Post Holder is required to hold either a valid 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and maintain standards in accordance with the UK law, the NMC, Trust and EU guidelines.

The Matron we are looking for is a compassionate, transformational and inclusive leader. We are looking to build a place where staff feel autonomous with a sense of belonging and competence.

The Divisional Nursing Director is keen to build a team of truly compassionate leaders who lead from the front at the same time as facilitating and growing others to deliver quality care across the division together.

The Matron will ensure all clinical, quality, safety, financial and workforce delivery.

Education & professional Qualifications:

  • Active registration with the NMC
  • Mentorship 998 or equivalent
  • Masters Level Study or relevant experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation including Emergency nursing course and ATLS

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Significant experience of working in Emergency Department
  • Band 7 leadership role within medicine or Emergency Department With at least 18 months experience
  • Experience of direct line management of staff

  • Able to supervise nonregistered and less experienced staff to ensure effective service and care delivery.
  • Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk And promote patient safety
  • Demonstrates ability to keep up to date with professional issues that influence nursing practice relating to area of clinical practice, management, education and research.
  • Able to contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies/protocols/guidelines relevant to area of practice
