The Perinatal Mental Health Team have an exciting opportunity for experienced Mental Health Practitioners to work with pregnant and postnatal women who have moderate to severe and complex mental health needs.
The Bedfordshire and Luton Perinatal Mental Health Team provide specialist care for women with moderate to severe mental illness during their pregnancy, and up to the age of 12 months.
The multidisciplinary team consists of a variety of professionals, including Administrators, Nursery Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Senior Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nurses and Social Workers as well as an Operational Manager.
The team are expanding as part of the long term plan ambitions in order to increase access to the service across the county, and you will be part of a dedicated team delivering high quality care to women and their babies.
Experience of working within a secondary mental health setting is preferable, as you will be expected to take on an autonomous role, as well as being an integral part of the wider MDT.

good working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding is essential, and you should have sound clinical skills, and the ability to thoroughly assess risk, formulate safe and effective management plans, and document this clearly and concisely.
Due to the position requiring the ability to travel between sites and offer home visits, a car owner/driver is essential.
