Join us as a Senior Innovation Designer

  • In this role, you will create new service concepts, value propositions and experiences on highpriority innovation projects from initial concept to launch
  • You'll conduct user research to uncover insights and inspire new ideas, sharing them with your team and key stakeholders including our global partners and senior executives
  • As an innovation team, our role is to anticipate future trends, disruptive technologies and changing customer needs for both B2C and B2B propositions
  • This fastpaced environment provides challenging work that has the potential to change the future of financial services and the value we provide to the 19 million customers we serve
  • The role and skillset is very broad so you might currently be working as a Strategist, Researcher, Innovation / Propositions Manager or Product / Service Designer but we're more interested in what you can do than what you're called

What you'll do


As a Senior Innovation Designer, you'll be responsible for the development of high-priority innovation projects within the Innovation & Partnerships team, working across our brands and with global partners to drive the creative vision of entirely new products and services.


Additionally, you'll be:

  • Building and maintaining our design capability, including creative visioning, insight development, and design of innovation projects
  • Executing sponsored innovation projects providing creative direction, problem solving, and ensuring a consistently high level of output
  • Running design research, including ethnographic and user research for actionable customer insights for innovation projects
  • Proactively building internal and external relationships, working in partnership to solve future challenges

The skills you'll need


To be successful in this role, you'll be qualified to degree level in design/innovation or have the equivalent in experience.

You'll have expertise and fluency across Design Thinking and Human Centred Design methods.

We'll also expect you to have a good understanding of innovation processes within large organisations, and experience of developing highly innovative work and managing multiple projects at once.


Additionally, you'll need:


  • Creative problemsolving skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguity based on customer insight and strategy
  • Experience in User Research and proposition definition
  • Selfless collaboration with a diverse set of colleagues and partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
