Maintenance Carpenter NHS - Birmingham - c£28k

You will be working as part of the Estates maintenance department within a busy city centre hospital.

Day to day work may consist of easing doors, fitting locks, installing shelves and repair works.

The carpenter's role is to maintain the structure and the fabric of the building, including maintaining the fire doors and windows in the main hospital and outstanding buildings on site.

Small refurbishment works will be undertaken in wards, offices and staff accommodation areas.

Maintaining the building structure and fabric including the Fire compartmentation. Responsible for testing, fire doors and windows with a planned preventative maintenance log.

Fitting and maintaining:

Security, access control, keys and locks Controlled drug storage units, Roofing, Building structure and partition walling, Fire doors

You will need to be qualified with City & Guilds Carpentry & Joinery or an equivalent qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery.

Previous experience of working in an acute Hospital environment or similar demanding role would be preferred.

8am to 4pm hour working week - Monday to Friday, some overtime available after 4pm and some weekends. Genuine opportunity for additional training and development.
