About Our Client:


The client is renowned in their field, with a global presence and based in a central location in Abingdon and close to transport links.


The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices; credit notes, student refunds and employee expenses in the inter-house systems
  • Assisting in resolving purchase order discrepancies in order to achieve 100% PO compliance
  • Creating automated payment runs and initiate any adhoc payments when required
  • Competing daily bank reconciliations
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable trial balance report with general ledger
  • Supplier set up and maintenance of supplier records
  • Assist in audit of expense/credit card acquittals
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Assisting with month end process, balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist with development of best practice payable manuals
  • Support any other adhoc activities and projects relating to finance as requested
  • Providing the bestinclass customer services to all stakeholders and supporting the management of AP shared inbox

The Successful Applicant:


The Accounts Payable Officer will:

  • Demonstrate experience in accounts payable role
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles and practices
  • Have good analytical skills and close attention to detail, provide insightful analysis of data and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Have the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with others
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal, selfmanagement, and relationship management skills
  • Have strong organisational/planning skills and prioritisation ability
  • Have the ability to research issues and present solutions
  • Be proactive keen to identify and implement process improvements collaboratively and in consultation with others who may be impacted
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel
  • Experience in the use of accounting specific software (Oracle, OCR, etc.)
