JOB PURPOSE


To assist with the daily operation and function of the 1st Team Sport Science Department across a wide variety of disciplines.


RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Reports to:
Josh Hornby


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the daily monitoring of all first team players using a range of physical tests to produce pretraining reports for the Sports Science department and coaching staff.
  • Live monitoring of players GPS during training/rehabilitation sessions to feed information back to relevant staff to ensure physical targets are achieved.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of all data to produce daily training/load monitoring reports for Sport Science and coaching staff when required.
  • Continually develop and maintain all Sport Science databases to the highest standard.
  • Assist with the delivery of strength and conditioning sessions for the 1st Team inclusive of mobility, strength, power, speed and athletic development.
  • Assist with recovery sessions to ensure optimal recovery between matches/sessions to reduce the risk of injury and optimise physical outputs.
  • Measure, record, and track all physical testing of players including anthropometric, gym and pitchbased tests.
  • Take part in external and internal CPD, maintain knowledge of contemporary research and trends within the field and contribute to the evolution of the current program within the multidisciplinary team.

MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education/Qualifications/Training:


Must be enrolled on a BSc in Sports Science or a related discipline and looking to complete a sandwich year.


Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:


  • A basic understanding of Sport Science and its role within a professional football environment.
  • Comprehension of Strength & Conditioning principles.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of sports nutrition.
  • Knowledge of field and gym based testing and how it can be applied in professional sport.
