Join us as a Specialist Business Control Partner (Records Management)

  • This specialist role will see you partnering with the business and Risk function to identify, assess and manage its records management risks within agreed risk appetite, using the bank's risk framework
  • Within this specialist capacity, you'll make a vital contribution to driving a generative culture of risk awareness, recommending solutions to operations risk issues within the Commercial, Retail, Wealth and Ventures businesses, and strengthening the level of ownership within the business
  • Hone your risk awareness skills and advance your career in this fastpaced and varied role with a firm emphasis on your development
  • Other locations will be considered for this role
  • We're offering this role for a period of 12 months with the potential for it to become permanent

What you'll do


We'll look to you to deliver a robust risk governance framework in line with the operational risk handbook and conduct and compliance handbook.

You'll also support records management, to build credible and realistic plans to move and sustain a control environment certification rating with risk appetite.


Other key responsibilities are to include:

  • Supporting the creation, implementation and maintenance of clear and effective processes to manage records risk across Commercial Banking, Retail, Wealth and Ventures
  • Investigating queries accurately and raising with the relevant parties without delay and escalating where needed
  • Responding to records management queries from customers and stakeholders, providing accurate specialist advice promptly within in agreed timelines
  • Providing a clear understanding of customer and stakeholder needs to deliver the most appropriate and fitforpurpose solution
  • Producing relevant reporting and MI for comment and action, and ensuring any issues or areas of concern are escalated at the earliest opportunity

The skills you'll need


To be successful in this role you'll need an understanding of our risk management framework as well as good communication skills, particularly in relation to written communication and summarising documents.


On top of this, you'll bring:

  • Experience working with legislation, regulation or bank policy
  • An awareness of changes in trends, policies and regulations relating to the business
  • An understanding of our industry and customers
  • A thorough understanding of products, processes and banking systems
  • A willingness to develop your technical knowledge in the records management discipline
  • The ability to influence at all levels
