Join our Rail UK team as a Skilled Operative and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.

The key purpose of the role is join our operations team in our Track Supplies delivery unit to assist with picking, packing and fabrication of materials for sales orders, fabricating and assembling of switches and crossing as well as helping to maintain safe and orderly workshop and yard storage areas


What you'll be doing

  • Carry out picking and packing duties in warehouse and yard
  • Checking goods received against supplier consignment notes and immediately advising of discrepancies (quality / quantity)
  • Completing the Goods Received Note process where required
  • Assisting with cutting and drilling requirements in the workshop and stores
  • Assisting with the fabrication of switches and crossings
  • Completion of kitting/picking lists where required
  • Carrying out daily checks on plant, small tools and other equipment
  • Complete of daily log and orderly record keeping
  • Assisting with orderly stock management
  • Assisting in the loading and unloading of lorries in line with competencies held
  • General admin as and when required

Who we're looking for Essential**- Ability to follow departmental procedures.

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse/yard, stock management and goods handling environment.
  • Understanding of the Rail/construction industry.
