The Company

Nigel Wright are pleased to be working with a well known food manufacturing that are looking to recruit a Production Manager.

The Production Manager will play a key role in supporting the Operations team in the growth and development of the Production department.


The Role
The Production Manager will lead the planning, scheduling and execution of all manufacturing operations within the plant. They will be responsible for cost-effective planning, processing and production.

The Production Manager will contribute to the successof the business by ensuring products are produced on-time, within budget, with the highest quality and uncompromising safety.


Duties & responsibilities include:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Production team, overseeing their training and development.
  • Liaising with the CEO's and Finance Director and be a key part of the Senior Management team.
  • Development of policies, standards, procedures and an overall strategy for the Production department
  • Identifying key areas for training and improvements engaging the team to adapt to best methods and embrace cultural changes. Ensure 5S is implemented fully and sustained moving forward.
  • Direct control of Production staffing stock control and liaise with the Engineering and QA department on a daily basis ensuring plans are up to date
  • Looking at waste reducing or eliminating waste through the teams look at reduction in waste through training and development ensuring the team are being made accountable and understand the costs associated with waste.
  • Conduct studies with the Engineering Manager to discover ways to improve the efficiency of production processes.
  • Oversee the hiring and training food production personnel.
  • Monitor every aspect of production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • Set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets.
  • Ensure all company regulations and government legislations are adhered to

Requirements:


  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people on all levels
  • Analytical with good problem solving skills
  • 5+ years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food production environment.
  • Experience with automation is advantageous.
