An opportunity has arisen for a Substantive Consultant post in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

The post has arisen due to retirement and alteration in job plans within the team.


The Trust provides emergency, secondary, community and mental health services for children from Liverpool and the surrounding community, and is the tertiary referral centre for a much wider geographical area including the whole of Merseyside, Cheshire, parts of Lancashire, Cumbria, Shropshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.


The appointee will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of NHS and University consultants, nurse specialists, physiotherapists and secretaries based in the purpose-built respiratory unit.

The respiratory workload will include a respiratory in-patient consult service to a wide range of sub-specialties and outpatient work.

The role will also involve the care of children and young people with disorders of sleep involving the initiation and management of those on long-term ventilation.


Applications are invited from those already on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register, holding their CCST/CCT or within six months of the appropriate CCST/CCT award at time of interview.
